Purpose / 01

Providing a formal avenue for collaboration.

Quantitative faculty and graduate students are occasionally asked to provide informal analytic support. That work can become substantial without a shared understanding of time, responsibility, or credit.

Quant Cafe provides a clear intake process and provides a formal avenue for continued involvement and collaboration. Additional work requires an explicit agreement about scope, responsibilities, and appropriate credit.

How it works

Requests are reviewed and matched by topic and availability.

  1. 01

    Submit the request form

    State the project stage, the relevant methods, and the specific question. This information is used to identify an appropriate consultant.

  2. 02

    Attend an initial consultation

    The first meeting is used to clarify the question, review possible approaches, and determine whether additional work is needed. If a resolution is found after this meeting, fantastic!

  3. 03

    Set terms for further collaboration

    Before a second meeting or further collaboration, participants agree on scope, responsibilities, and formal involvement. This may include collaboration, authorship, acknowledgment, or another arrangement appropriate to the contribution.
